Compliance Evidence
⚠ Partially documented – no complete RoHS certificate available. Evidence via manufacturer documentation.
Evidence: No explicit RoHS link on file in this project; BASF Forward AM does not publish a separate RoHS declaration for this filament. May be included in TDS documents.
⚠ Partially documented – SVHC statement available, but no complete REACH conformity declaration on file.
Evidence: No explicit REACH link on file in this project. RoHS/REACH statements may be included in the manufacturer's TDS – request project-specifically.
⚠ Partially documented – evidence via manufacturer documentation under defined conditions. No complete FDA certificate on file.
Evidence: Food-contact compliance for the filament material per EU 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR per BASF manufacturer documentation. Check individual colors and applications. Evaluate the printed part, nozzle and print quality separately.
The evidence listed applies to the filament or raw material per manufacturer documentation. Regulatory clearance of the printed final product – particularly for food contact, medical devices, electrical applications or UL-relevant parts – is not automatically included and must be evaluated on a project-specific basis. Technical machine assignment is handled internally.

Material Profile
BASF Forward AM stands for chemical expertise carried over into 3D printing. Ultrafuse PET is not generic PETG – it’s a homopolymer PET formulated in BASF’s own lab and produced in ISO-certified facilities.
Homopolymer vs. Co-Polymer: The Difference
PETG (glycol-modified PET) is the typical FFF material. Ultrafuse PET is pure PET:
| Property | PETG | Ultrafuse PET |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical resistance | Good | Very good |
| Transparency | Medium | High |
| Printability | Easy | Medium |
| Moisture absorption | ~0.4% | ~0.16% |
| FDA compliance | Material-dependent | Partially documented (filament material; evaluate part separately) |
Why BASF as Manufacturer Matters
BASF Forward AM brings the quality standards of the chemical industry (ISO 9001:2015, complete batch documentation, consistent material purity) to the FFF filament market. For us as a manufacturing service provider, that means: no surprises between batches, auditable material provenance, and industrial-grade safety data sheets.
