Material Profile
Glow-in-the-Dark PLA uses strontium aluminate (SrAl₂O₄) as a phosphor – a non-radioactive, non-toxic phosphorescent material that absorbs light and slowly releases it again. However, the particles are hard and abrasive; brass nozzles wear faster.
This material is designed exclusively for creative and decorative projects. Other approaches are needed for safety-relevant lighting or certified products.
