Material Profile
PET-GF uses glass fibers to reinforce a PET matrix. Compared to carbon-fiber variants (PET-CF), PET-GF is more economical and offers a lighter surface – at somewhat lower tensile strength and stiffness. PET’s low moisture absorption makes the material especially dimensionally stable under weather cycling.
PET-GF vs. PET-CF
| Property | PET-GF | PET-CF |
|---|---|---|
| Tensile strength | ~50–70 MPa | ~65–80 MPa |
| Heat deflection | ~70–90 °C | ~80–100 °C |
| Material cost | More economical | Higher |
| Surface | Light, rough | Dark, opaque |
| Weather resistance | Good | Good |
PET-GF is the more economical choice when outdoor dimensional stability is the priority and the slightly higher stiffness of PET-CF isn’t required.
Material Sourcing
PET-GF is sourced on a project-specific basis. When you place an order, we clarify material batch, lead time and technical datasheets individually.
